Riccardo is a Grierson-nominated director and editor working across documentary, fiction, branded content and commercials. He previously worked as a development producer and in-house creative at Salon Pictures, before the company merged with Embankment Films. During his time there, he directed and edited two feature documentaries for theatrical release and broadcast.

His first feature, A Space in Time, created alongside Nick Taussig, aimed to raise awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The film received a theatrical release and was nominated for Best Single Documentary at the prestigious Grierson British Documentary Awards.

He later directed Dwarf Story for Embankment Films. The documentary explores the impact of emerging treatments for children with achondroplasia, and the role media representation has played in shaping public perception. Commissioned by ITV and described by The Guardian as a “complex documentary,” the one-hour special aired in the UK to an audience of 1.5 million viewers and is now available on ITVX.

He has worked with notable companies such as Netflix, BBC, Apple, ITV, BFI, SONY, Channel 4, DAZN, VIRGIN and many more. He is a full BAFTA member and BIFA voter with a keen interest in supporting underrepresented stories and talent. As well as editing his own films, he also edits for other productions, including feature and broadcast documentaries and extensive work in the branded and commercial sectors working with huge global companies. He edited BAFTA Cymru nominated Apple TV + Original documentary  Charlie Mackesy: The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, the Horse and Me available on  Apple TV + globally. Artist and illustrator Charlie Mackesy takes us on a journey through his life, revealing the events that inspired his bestselling book The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse and the making of the Oscar winning animation of the same name. 

He has also worked with notable Directors including Rob Savage (Host, Boogeyman) and Kate Herron (Loki). Editing short films that have screened all around the world including ‘Healey’s House’ and ‘Dawn of the Deaf’ which was also selected for Sundance. You can find more of his editing work here.
