STORIES - IMPACT - COMMUNITY

Launched in 2025, Anima Entertainment is the documentary label created by Riccardo Servini. Our work is driven by a deep belief in the power of human stories to shift perspectives and spark social and cultural change, creating cinematic, engaging entertainment that also raises awareness. Whether it’s a project shining a light on underrepresented communities, extraordinary human stories, conversations  around disability and mental health or exploring how culture and sport connects people, we always aim to make a lasting impact, reframing how we see the world.

ANIMA was originally conceived in 2021 with the documentary A Space in Time, a co-production with Salon Pictures directed by Riccardo Servini and Nick Taussig to raise awareness of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The film was backed by the BFI, released theatrically, and nominated for “Best Single Documentary” at the prestigious Grierson British Documentary Awards 2022.

Dwarf Story (2024) was co-produced with Embankment Films to give a platform to the dwarfism community to discuss the rising use of controversial treatments for children with achondroplasia, and how media representation has shaped societal views. A one-hour special aired on ITV in the UK, and the feature version premiered at the Odeon Luxe West End during the Little Venice Film Festival, winning three awards including Best Documentary and the Disability Experience Award. Its Australian premiere was at the Melbourne Documentary Film Festival, and it continues to collect accolades worldwide.

Coming up we are supporting the Romanian feature documentary Anatomy of Ordinary Crimes directed and produced by Adina Sadeanu (Spy/Master), Axis Media Production (Romania) in co-production with Avanpost (România) and BarProd-Cons (Moldavia) with the support of the Romanian Film Fund. This urgent documentary uncovers the real-life, long-term impact of cyber violence and online sexual abuse and how it reshapes lives, communities and our entire digital culture. This is a call to start a real conversation and to change what we've come to accept as "ordinary".

It is important to us that we are creating a like minded community and championing creatives with fresh, diverse perspectives, empowering them to experiment boldly while connecting deeply with audiences.
